Tobias Gush - Award-winning Chef

Tobias Gush, head chef and a co-owner of Chianti Classico, has a passion for cooking that knows no bounds. An Englishman by birth, he cultivated a passion for authentic Italian food during his own apprenticeship in the UK where he worked with such renowned restaurants as Alastair Little and the River Café.

After migrating from the UK Tobias first worked in Queensland before joining the industry in SA at Citrus then briefly at Urban Bistro before becoming head chef at Chianti Classico.

Tobias spends a great deal of time researching and experimenting with old Italian recipes that best showcase true authentic regional cooking. Toby, together with Frank Favaro, are members of the Council of Italian Restaurateurs Australia (CIRA), which aims to preserve authentic Italian regional cooking by passing on skills and secrets to the next generation of Australian-born chefs.

It's clear from Chianti Classico's popularity that Tobias Gush is an excellent chef who has helped raise the bar to set a new standard in authentic Italian cusine.
